What a day in Boston! Kenya's Geoffrey Mutai ran the fastest marathon ever recorded, finishing the course in amazing 2:03:02. It was, however, not recognized as an official world record as the course in Boston does not fulfil the criteria for record eligibility. Boston Marathon Results 2007
In 2007, Kenyan Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot repeated his 2006 win. In 2006, his time 2:07:14 broke the former race record, held by countryman Cosmas Ndeti since 1994, by one second. The women’s division was in 2007 won by Lidiya Grigoryeva from Russia with the time 2:29:18.
