What a day in Boston! Kenya's Geoffrey Mutai ran the fastest marathon ever recorded, finishing the course in amazing 2:03:02. It was, however, not recognized as an official world record as the course in Boston

In 2007, Kenyan Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot repeated his 2006 win. In 2006, his time 2:07:14
broke the former race record, held by countryman Cosmas Ndeti since 1994, by one
second. The women’s division was in 2007 won by Lidiya Grigoryeva from Russia with
the time 2:29:18.
